Getting Around

Getting Around Newport, Rhode Island is the final stop of the 2011-2012 America’s Cup World Series (ACWS), which will feature both fleet and match racing. The event will take place June 26 - July 1, 2012.

Getting Here

Newport is conveniently located in the heart of New England and is easily reached by car, train, bus or boat and is accessible from all major public transportation in the region. Click here for more information.

Event Parking

On-site parking at Fort Adams is available: $10/day for non-race days (June 23-27) and $20/day for race days (June 28-July 1). Tickets available online here.

Remote parking lots are located in the City of Newport, Middletown and the Pell Bridge Interchange. Shuttle service will be available from the remote parking lots, during the four ACWS Official Race days only (June 28 – July 1). The shuttles will drop off passengers at water shuttle service site in downtown Newport; the cost for parking in the remote lots is $10. The lots are open from 10am – 7pm. *NOTE: shuttle service to Fort Adams via land is not available.

Water Taxis

Water transportation to and from Fort Adams is available from embarkation points in Newport and Jamestown.

Water shuttle service is available from the Perotti Park Ferry/Harbor Shuttle Docks; the cost is $10 roundtrip for adults & $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Perrotti Park/Harbor Shuttle and Ferry Landing for further information please visit oldportmarine.com or call 401-847-9109.

Conanicut Marine in Jamestown is also offering reserved satellite parking & shuttle service from Jamestown to Ft. Adams on the Jamestown & Newport Ferry system; the cost is $26.50 roundtrip and includes all day parking and priority boarding. View America's Cup Trials Expanded Schedule.

RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority Bus Service)

RIPTA is the public transportation for Rhode Island and can be convenient for getting to/from Newport if you do not want the hassle of finding parking. >> See RIPTA's Schedule

While in Newport, RIPTA also offers a convenient trolley service, great for a scenic ride through the mansions, Cliff Walk, Bellevue Ave, and more.
