The following sets forth Discover Newport’s What’s Your Reason Contest Rules. By entering the Contest, you are agreeing to these Contest Rules. Discover Newport may change or cancel the Contest and/or these Rules at any time. To pose questions or comments regarding these Contest Rules and/or for a copy of a list of winners, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

The What’s Your Reason Contest will run from April 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013. However, it may be extended by Discover Newport and any such extended term will be posted to these Giveaway Rules.


No Purchase Necessary

There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest.


Entering the Contest

To enter you must provide an email and certain personal information as part of the Contest. Your odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries Discover Newport receives.


Use of Entrant Information

All information submitted as part of your entry will never be shared or distributed to a third party. Discover Newport will send all entrants emails about upcoming events, getaway packages and general visitor information on Newport and its eight surrounding coastal communities. Entrants may unsubscribe or opt out of receiving such additional emails and postal mailings at any time.


Drawings

Discover Newport will notifity the winner by email or via Twitter/Instagram. If the email address is invalid or the notification cannot be delivered, Discover Newport will select another winner at random. If a dispute arises over entitlement to a prize, the winner is the person to whom the email account was assigned by the appropriate agency, internet service provider, business, or organization.


Prizes

The winner will receive:

  • A 2 Night Stay at one of the many Newport or Bristol Counties (Rhode Island) hotels, inns or bed & breakfasts. Some restrictions apply. Excludes holidays & certain blackout dates.
  • A VIP pass valid for admission for two persons to several area museums, mansions, wineries & outdoor attractions.
  • A $50 gift certificate to an area restaurant and an official Discover Newport canvas bag.
  • No substitutions or refunds. Prize is non-transferable.

Publicity

Winners may be required to complete a declaration of eligibility and a publicity release before receiving the prize. Winners are responsible for paying all taxes and expenses associated with the prize. By accepting the prize you are granting the right to use your name, city, state, and likeness for promotional purposes without compensation or notice to the extent permitted by law. I agree to allow my name and town/city to be shown with my photo.


Eligibility

Our contest is open only to legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older. Discover Newport employees and their immediate family members are not eligible. The contest is void where prohibited by law.

Discover Newport is not responsible for (1) typographical errors, misdirected or incomplete entries; or (2) computer or telecommunication system failures or similar disruptions to email services and/or the Internet.
